TENDO were Mr Dimensional & Peter “Spike” Baldassara; two professional drivers with extremely high energy levels, combined with a shared passion for mischief and old games consoles. They existed in 2005, writing and producing only two demo tracks together.
After being thrown out of legendary Glasgow metal club The Cathouse dressed in matching marathon runner vests, huge black mullet wigs, fake moustaches and young girl’s hockey shorts, the duo headed back to TENDO HQ (a flat on Annette Street in Glasgow’s Southside) to sink shots of whisky and vodka.
It was there that Spike discovered Mr Dimensional’s huge collection of electronic music machines. They were powered up, and the two spent hours trying to synthesize the sound of a tramp orgy in a bin alleyway. By the next morning the bare structure of “BTTRNG TRSH CNS” had been built.
Raw sounding, rough around the edges and pushed into the red throughout the recording. It was the first of only two original TENDO tracks.
The single “BTTRNG TRSH CNS” was released on 1st March 2013 on Flyin’ Saucepan. The release features two remixes: 1 – A high quality extended progressive tech remix by Mr Dimensional (TENDO, Emotiquon). Sleazy filthy analogue bass and an 80s electro house vibe. Bringing trash to the floor… 2 – Voltergeist‘s textural psychedelic ambient glitch-hop dub for the mind, reminiscent of Seefeel, Broadcast and Boards of Canada. There is also an edited version of the MR DMNSNL remix.
You can buy the entire single directly from the Flyin’ Shop for £1. Like all Flyin’ Saucepan releases, it comes bundled with it’s own unique recipe [PANFRIED 001], Flyin’ Saucepan desktop wallpaper, mobile phone wallpaper, ringtone & text alert sounds.
Their final track, “RDCL BSS MN” (Radical Boss Man) is forthcoming on Flyin’ Saucepan.
